Checklist Before Your VicRoads Driving Test

Being organised on the day of your VicRoads driving test can make all the difference. At DOS Driving School, we recommend going through this handy checklist to ensure you’re fully prepared and stress-free when you arrive at the test centre.

Documents to Bring

  • Learner Permit
  • Completed and signed logbook (if required)
  • Proof of passing the Hazard Perception Test (if required)
  • Appointment confirmation details


Vehicle Preparation

  • Make sure the car you’re using is roadworthy and registered
  • Check tyres, brakes, lights, indicators, and mirrors
  • Fuel up — don’t risk running low on petrol
  • Clean the windows and interior for good visibility


Mental and Physical Preparation

  • Get a good night’s sleep before test day
  • Arrive at the test centre at least 15 minutes early
  • Take deep breaths and stay calm — nerves are normal
  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for driving


Last-Minute Driving Tips

  • Review parking, merging, and roundabout skills
  • Remember to check mirrors and blind spots regularly
  • Obey all speed limits and road signs
  • Stay confident and focused — mistakes happen, just keep driving safely
