In Victoria, Australia, you must be at least:
- 16 years old to apply for a learner's permit.
- You can actually start your online learner course and test when you’re 15 years and 11 months, but you won’t be able to get the permit card until the day you turn 16.

To get your Ls in Victoria, you also need to:
- Live in Victoria.
- Be medically fit to drive (you may need a medical clearance if you have a condition that affects driving).
- Not be disqualified from holding a licence.
- Have no unpaid fines or licensing bans that prevent you from applying.

- Proof of Victorian residency (e.g. utility bill, bank statement if not on your ID).
- Completed test certificate (if online).

- Pass an eyesight check.
What’s Next After Getting Your Ls?

- Keep to a 0.00 BAC (no alcohol) while driving.
- Record at least 120 hours of supervised driving (including 20 hours at night) before going for your Ps if you’re under 21.
